Babies.

We took away the goalie.  We are actively "trying" for a baby.  This is major craziness.  Our life is going to change big time!  I couldn't be more excited.  My husband would have been happy to have a baby yesterday, but now I am finally ready!   He is one of those men that are full of love and patience.  He will be the best dad anyone could ask for.  He is a great husband.  We are truly partners in life.  And we are so excited for this new adventure!  Let the baby making begin!

What we have been up to.

We have been busy.  Very busy.  About 6 weeks ago I volunteered to host "dessert" for our annual neighborhood progressive dinner party.  We knew that neighbors coming over + crazy dirty *stinky* ugly family room = no good.  So we figured this was just as good as any time to remodel our family room.

Family Room facing back of house with kitchen to the right Before

First, we removed the "faux" styrofoam wood beams.  Then my talented husband added some recessed lights to really brighten the area.  That involved a lot of time in the attic + insulation = itch proof suit!

Next, we Jeret removed the spindles.  This was a load bearing wall so he consulted another fire fighter/ contractor to help with structural advice.  One of the best characteristics of my husband is that he does things right the first time.  He does his research and does a good job.  I would trust his work even more than a paid professional.

We painted the paneling, removed the fireplace insert, replaced the garage entry door and installed hardwood floors (finally)!  We bought these hardwood floors almost 1 year ago when we purchased the house.  We definitely take our time around here and work on projects one day at a time.

We still need to add baseboards... but we will get to that after we enjoy the room for a little while.

Jeret.

I saw a saying on Pinterest that I had not heard of before, "Do not marry a man unless you would be proud to have a son exactly like him."  So very true.  I think about my future children (boys or girls) and I think about the qualities that I would like for them to have.  I think about how I am going to teach them to be good people.
I want them to be confident, strong, hardworking, loyal and loving.  Those are all of the qualities that I see in my husband.  He would do anything for his family.  He would do anything for me.  He works hard every.single.day.  And he is passionate.  He wears his heart on his sleeve (although not nearly as emotional as he used to be... I probably have myself to blame!)
Children learn the most from example.  I could not have chosen a better life partner.
