Week 36 and 37

We are full term, baby! Week 37 is donezo!
Baby is the size of winter melon... where do they come up with these fruits?

Taken last Saturday at 36 weeks

We have been slowly but surely filling in the baby's nursery.  It is not nearly as "Pinterest" cute as I imagined it would be, but I am totally ok with that.  Babies need a lot of stuff and that can get really expensive so I used as much as possible to decorate from what I had around the house.

The tan fabric laying on the dresser is actually the cover for the changing pad.  It is ordered but is not supposed to ship for another 2 weeks.  Just to the right of it is a wipes warmer!  They think of everything!

The crib is all set!  I have a few stuffed animals in it right now for decorations but when the baby sleeps there it will be empty.  I also have a few of my favorite baby blankets that he has received folded up in there as well.
The vertical stripped bag is the diaper bag.  It is all packed and ready to go! The bag next to it is my hospital bag.  It is almost ready, too!  We are ready for you, baby :)

The rocking chair was given to us from Jeret's Grandparents.  I bought a new cushion for it on Overstock.

My friends in the neighborhood held a surprise baby shower for me at book club this week.  They have been so good to me.  I feel so lucky to have met them.  It is so nice to have such a strong support system that lives only a few houses down.  The basket in between the rocker and the door is full of books from my book club friends.  They all purchased their favorite books that they read to thier children.  I had them all sign the books, it was so sweet.

This view you can see the adorable garland that Rachel made for the baby.  Its hanging on the window panels.

This closet is STOCKED! All of those drawers are filled with baby clothes and it is all 0-6months!!

A shot of the stroller with the car seat attached.

Due Date:  November 3rd, 2013... 21 days to go!

Boy or Girl:  Baby Boy

Currently Avoiding: Onions.  Oh my word do they give me indigestion.

Currently Craving: Sweets!  I sure hope I don't double my weight gain in these last three weeks!

Weight: 31 pounds!

Belly Button Status:  Still in

Sleep: I go to the bathroom at a minimum of 4 times a night.  Lots of potty breaks.  I have also had some insomnia.  Some nights I wake up around 2am and am wide awake.  I just think my body is getting ready for baby

Evidence of Pregnancy Brain: Everyday

Symptoms:  Just growing at record speed.  I still think this little guy is going to be more of a peanut then a large baby.  I was 9.5lbs but Jeret was 7.1lbs.  I'll be really interested to find out what he weighs.  It just doesn't seem like there is a huge baby in my belly, but I could be wrong.  I have had some more "fake" contractions and also some shooting pain in the groin area.  I googled it ;) and it said that the pain is from the baby moving downward and pinching nerves.  So, I'm taking it as a good thing and meaning that baby is progressing!

Health:  My belly is measuring right on track with a 36cm measurement.  Baby's heartbeat was healthy and they did a little ultrasound to make sure baby was head down.  He sure is!  She also did a cervical exam and I am not dilated at all but she said the cervix is "soft".

Movement:  Lots of movement!  I love feeling the little guy.  It doesn't bother me one bit.  My belly doesn't jump around much because of my placenta placement but you can definitely see kicks.

Baby Related Purchases:  We bought the changing pad.  I think we are all set (minus the monitor).

Best Part of this Pregnancy:  Just taking in the fact that there is a full grown baby in my belly.  Wow!  I can't wait to meet him.  As much as I have enjoyed this pregnancy, I know it will be nothing compared to meeting our little guy.  We love him so much already!

28 Weeks

28 Weeks!
Baby is the size of an eggplant.  Over two pounds and up to 16 inches long!  He can blink his eyes and is putting on fat in preparation for the outside world.  I do love a healthy fat baby!
Nursery Progress:  The dresser/changing table is complete, window treatments are hung and the walls are painted!
The walls are painted!  Just need the baseboards and the room will be ready to fill in with baby goodies.

Milo has taken quiet well to the new colors and drapes in the nursery.  I think he approves!

Due Date:  November 3rd, 2013... 84 days and counting

Boy or Girl:  Go Blue

Currently Avoiding: I'll eat almost anything as long as it is safe for the baby

Weight: + 19 lbs at last doctors visit.  Trying to keep this trimester under control in the weight department.  The first trimester I lost weight because I felt so awful, the second trimester I felt SO MUCH better and started enjoying food again (maybe too much??), and so this third trimester my goal is to keep my weight in an ideal range and make sure I'm filling up on mostly fruits and veggies!  The doctor has not mentioned my weight one bit so I'm thinking I am still in the normal/healthy range.

Belly Button Status:  Still in.  No evidence of stretch marks!  Keeping my fingers crossed and belly moisturized!

Sleep: So far so good

Evidence of Pregnancy Brain: I can't remember... I am feeling many time so preoccupied.  Sometimes I totally lose my train of thought mid sentence, which is particularly embarrassing when I am talking with a patient.

Symptoms:  I have been really tired lately!  This weekend I took 2+ hr naps on Saturday and Sunday.  That has not happened since the first trimester.  I think baby is growing growing growing! Or it might have something to do with the obscene amount of sweets/junk food we have had around the house since having company last week.  Looking forward to detoxing this week.

Health:  Baby's heartbeat has been healthy, my blood pressure great (or low) and no signs of anemia yet.  I also passed my glucose test which means I do no have gestational diabetes.

Movement:  My baby boy is moving like crazy! I can especially feel him when I am laying on my side.  It is the best feeling ever!

Baby Related Purchases:  None to date.  I have been adding a lot to my registry.  I have two showers coming up in the next few months.  I am hoping to see what I receive and then fill in the rest as needed.  We have been buying gift cards to target every couple of weeks or so to help with diapers and added expenses when he arrives.  I won't be working so we will definitely feel a little pinch financially.  We have put some money aside but you never know if it is enough.

Best Part of this Pregnancy:  Just feeling Mr. Bennett move around :)

23 Weeks

23 Weeks!
On July 3rd, 2013 I am officially 5 months pregnant and starting the 6th month! Holy Cow!!

We celebrated the 3rd with fireworks in Madison.  Rhythms and Booms is a wonderful show put on by the city.  I feel so lucky to live in a city with wonderful events to enjoy.  Jeret and I have been coming up to these fire works (hit and miss) for at least 12 years.  It is a fun tradition.

We also worked on our first official baby project: the closet organizer from the container store.  It was surprisingly easy to install and I am SO glad we did not pay the extra 300 bones for someone else to install it.  I am looking forward to installing the chair rail and getting the room painted.  We have also started researching cribs.  Hoping to buy one in the next month or so.  So many BIG purchases coming up: crib, stroller, car seat!

My mom, lyd and I at the farmers market downtown.  We totally got there at the primetime so it was packed!  But so fun none the less!  This photo is crazy how big my belly looks!

Dad, Mom and Lyd

Me and my main squeeze. And, no we did not plan on matching we just do that sometimes.
Baby is the size of a grapefruit!

Due Date:  November 3rd, 2013 still.  4 months left to go!

Boy or Girl:  Boy all the way

Currently Avoiding: I think it is safe to say that I am not avoiding anything at this point.  All food sounds good!

Weight: Oh man, I bet this number is rising exponentially!  I'm slightly afraid to get on the scale.  We have an appointment on Friday as the truth will be told then!

Belly Button Status:  In for sure

Sleep: Sleeping really well.  We had such a busy weekend that I went to bed too late many nights, but I slept until 9am (wowzer) today so I definitely made up for it!

Recent vivid dreams: Lots and lots of dreams but non baby related

Evidence of Pregnancy Brain: I can't remember...

Symptoms:  I have not really had any bizarre symptoms this week.  Just mild nausea if I get too hungry.  I did have a little bit of a back ache yesterday morning but I think that was from all of the activities and exercise this weekend.  My mom was visiting so that always entails a lot of exercising.  We went for a really long (5 mile) trail walk and did some laps at the pool this weekend!

Health:  I am feeling baby move around so much more!  I love it!  It is slightly ackward when I am in a conversation with someone because right when I feel a little kick it makes me smile immediately.

Movement:  See above.  Feeling movement at least once a day.  Somedays more often than others.

Baby Related Purchases:  We bought the closet organizer from the container store.  I was also able to do some registering with my mom.  I have just been busy researching all kinds of goodies:  crib, stroller, car seat, monitors.  Of course I don't need top of the line, but I do want something that is safe and good quality.  After all, we do want to have more than one baby and I'd like stuff that we could use for a long time.

Best Part of this Pregnancy:  Feeling awesome in this 2nd trimester.  My energy is high and everything is feeling more real each day.
